Why Heroic
Most yards in Southside get handed between a rotating mowing crew, a sprinkler guy, a designer and — for six weeks a year — a Christmas-light company that has never seen the property before. Heroic is all of it, on the same route, all year.
Not a rotating roster of subcontractors. You'll know their names, and they'll know which zone in your yard floods after a storm.
Most mowing crews can't touch irrigation. Broken zone, stuck valve, misaimed head, dead timer — that's an in-house repair, not a second contractor.
Mowing, hedges, weed control, design, install, hardscape, lighting. One invoice, one point of contact, one person accountable.
Route density in 32216 means faster response on a broken head or a storm limb — and no trip-charge padding to get here.
What we do
Six services, one crew, one number to call. Design and lighting included — not farmed out.

Mow, edge, line-trim and blow — weekly through the growing season, bi-weekly through winter. Hedges and weed treatment on the same visit.

Weekly April through October, bi-weekly November through March. Same crew, same day, same route — which is exactly why we can be there fast when something breaks.

Plan customers get first pick of the December lighting calendar — and the landscape-lighting design that goes in during the spring. We're already on the property; the roofline, the outlets and the ladder positions are already in our notes.
Landscape & holiday lighting
The lighting specialists meet your house for the first time in November. We've been on the property every week since spring. We know where the outlets are, where the ladder sits safely, and which oak limb is in the way.
Path and step lighting, uplighting on oaks and palms, façade and entry wash, plus transformer, timer and low-voltage runs laid out around the irrigation zones we already mapped. Designed with the beds, not bolted on after them.
Booking note: November and the first week of December fill first, and plan customers are scheduled before the calendar opens publicly. If you want lights up before Thanksgiving, the conversation happens in September.
Send a photo to (904) 303-6819 and we'll price it — no site visit needed to get a number. Lighting starts from $X.

Areas served
Heroic runs out of 718 Monte Carlo Rd in 32216. The tighter the route, the faster we get to a broken sprinkler zone or a limb down after a storm — so we build the schedule around a handful of Southside neighborhoods rather than the whole county.
Just outside the list? Call anyway — (904) 303-6819.
What neighbors say
Roughly 47 reviews and no visible negatives across nine years. Customers name James personally — which is the whole point of not being a rotating crew.
Questions
St. Augustine grass grows fast here from April through October — weekly is the right cadence, and skipping to every other week in summer scalps the blade and invites weeds. November through March the growth slows and bi-weekly is usually enough. That's exactly how our plans are structured.
Pre-emergent goes down before soil temperatures climb in late winter, with a second application in early fall. Post-emergent spot treatment happens on regular visits. St. Augustine is sensitive to several common herbicides, so product choice matters more than frequency.
Yes — most of our irrigation work is on systems somebody else put in. Zone diagnostics, stuck valves, broken heads, cut lines and controller programming are all in-house. We don't sub it out.
September is the right time to have the conversation. November and the first week of December fill first, and maintenance-plan customers are scheduled before the calendar opens publicly.
Yes. Takedown in January and off-season storage are included — nothing ends up in your garage. Mid-season service calls are included too, so a dark run gets fixed rather than waiting until next year.
Both. Landscape lighting — path and step lights, uplighting on oaks and palms, façade wash, transformer and timer — is designed alongside the beds and laid out around the existing irrigation zones. Holiday lighting is the seasonal layer on top.
Grove Park, Holiday Hill, Glynlea and the surrounding Southside neighborhoods around our 32216 base, plus Lakewood and San Jose. If you're just outside that, call and ask — route density is the reason we keep it tight.
Maintenance plans are year-round agreements because that's what makes the schedule and the pricing work — weekly in the growing season, bi-weekly in winter. One-off cleanups, installs, hardscape and lighting are quoted individually.
Call or text James directly. Send a photo if it's easier — for lighting and mulch work that's usually enough to give you a number without a site visit.
